Christmas Traditions

We all have special family traditions, I want to share a few of ours with everyone. We take the trip to see the lights at Temple Square. We eat at the Gateway. We usually drive in but this year we took front runner and it was great not to have to fight the traffic.

riding front runner was great!

The Temple is always beautiful.
It was snowing and it was magical!

I make homemade suckers every year, I have done it forever. This year I decided I probably wouldn't make them, but Carrie called and said, "When are you making suckers?" I told her I don't think I will make them and she told me, "You have to make suckers, if we don't have suckers for Christmas that would be like Christmas without Santa." So she came over and helped me make suckers! So if you stop by our house be sure to grab a sucker from "Grandmas Sucker Tree". On Christmas Eve Kris makes his "famous kabobs" and the family all comes over to eat and they all open a gift from us. On Christmas morning I make a breakfast casserole and muffins and the kids come over for brunch. That is getting harder since the grand kids are getting older and want to stay at their house and play with the new stuff. We travel to see what Santa brought the grand kids and then visit our moms(both our dads are gone) my mom stays with us every other year. Christmas is all about family and friends, good food and the birth of Jesus Christ, I pray we all keep the true spirit of Christmas in our homes this year. Have a wonderful Christmas Everyone!!

Wonderful Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, dinner was at our house this year. We had 18 family members. I was so busy cooking I didn't bring out the camera. Kris wanted to pull a practical joke so as I cooked the turkey he cooked a cornish game hen, and when the family was all seated at the table he brought out the game hen and said because of the economy this was all we could afford, it was really pretty funny. We had a wonderful day. Now starts the Christmas Season, my favorite time of the year. Our wedding anniversary is Dec 23...... 38 years this year. Merry Christmas All!!!! I have opened my blog back up.

Saftey in Blogging

Just read an article on KSL about blogging and the dangers...I decided it was not worth the risk to my family...so I put a block on it and it is only open to those I invited...Thanks for your support.

Family Halloween Party

Just some fun pic's of our family Halloween Party. We had it at Brock and Carrie's house.....................Sarah Palin came...
so did the devil and an angel, a pirate and a witch, and a couple of old people(no not me and Kris)...Thomas the train, a little witch,a ballerina, a bag of jelly beans, a dinosaur, and a firefighter!!!!
We bob for apples, ate dinner in a pumpkin, donut eating contest and watched Scooby-doo the Halloween movie!
Are Kris and I really bobbing for apples or just makin' out?? You decide, I already know!!!

Deer Hunting

We went deer hunting over the week-end. No one in our group got a deer, but we had fun. We went up by Hardware Ranch and camped in the parking lot. My sister-in-law and I stayed at camp and watched the Elk. Carrie had a deer tag and was a real trooper, up at 6:00am every morning when it was 24 degrees out side.

Carrie and Brock had a flat tire the first day. All the guys were scruffy...I guess you have to look rough to hunt for deer, Carrie was just cute in all her orange.

Dax with Papa and Grandma

Pictures of Dax while his Mom & Dad & brothers went to Disney World....We did survive the week!!! We had lots of fun. Dax followed Papa everywhere even to the bathroom...he had to wear papa's shoes (I thought I rotated the picture oopps)...dinner time was fun??!!?? Bedtime was peaceful.
