Happy New Year From San Diego
Happy New Year From San Diego! We spent the day in San Diego eating fish & chips for lunch at a cute restaurant in the harbor. We walked and drove all around. We lived here while Kris was in Naval school 32 years ago. We went to dinner at a wonderful Mexican restaurant. We have eaten really tooo well on this trip. Time to drag out the treadmill when I get home. We saw dolphins swimming down the coast line this morning while we walked along the beach, I had my other camera and thought I was taking a video and of course it didn't work...oh well, it was really cool. We are really having a great time. Happy New Year!!!Tuesday, December 30, 2008

On the Road

Well we are on our way to Yuma, AZ. We left at 8:00am this morning. The roads were TERRIBLE!! After Cedar City the roads were clear and we were able to go the speed limit.
Our windshield washer quit working and so we had to stop once in a while and throw snow on the windshield so we could see. We washed the car when we got to St George and Kris fixed the washer. We decided to call it a night and stay at the Best Western in Logandale, Nevada by Lake Mead. We have stayed at this motel before and it is nice and we have internet access , and there is no snow!

Our 38th Anniversary

Today is our 38th wedding anniversary. It is also Joseph Smiths Birthday. This is how our day started. I woke up about 2:30am, about 3:00am Kris woke up. Why we woke up that early I don't know but we did, so Kris told me to turn the TV on and we watched the news until 3:30 and then he said lets get dressed and go to Walmart....so we did and got a little bit of shopping done, it is surprising that everyone at the Syracuse Walmart was really friendly at 4:00am then we stopped by McDonald's and Kris bought me breakfast. We have a few more errands today an I have some Relief Society things I have to do and then we are going out to dinner tonight. The day after Christmas we are leaving for Yuma Arizona and hop the border to Los Algodonas Mexico. We are going to try to make it over to San Diego and spend a few days there
and go through a session in the San Diego Temple. It is such a beautiful Temple.
and go through a session in the San Diego Temple. It is such a beautiful Temple.Kris and I met on a blind date set up by my best friend who was dating his friend. We went to Lagoon (back in the day when you walked in for free and bought tickets for the rides). Kris was hunting in Wyoming that day and was 2 hours late for our date and didn't come to pick me up until 10:00pm, my dad was not going to let me go first because it was so late and second Kris wouldn't come to the door to get me because my friend said I probably wouldn't be there. You see she set me up with another one of his friends and I got a better offer and stood him up. Anyway my dad finally agreed as long as I was home by midnight and not a minute later. We really hit it off and that was August 1st and we were married 4 1/2 months later. We were married in my parents living room. We were married 6 years before we started our family (not by choice) we had to go through fertility procedures. We have four great kids and six absolutely amazing grand kids. We were sealed in the Ogden Temple.

Christmas Traditions
riding front runner was great!
The Temple is always beautiful.
It was snowing and it was magical!
I make homemade suckers every year, I have done it forever. This year I decided I probably wouldn't make them, but Carrie called and said, "When are you making suckers?" I told her I don't think I will make them and she told me, "You have to make suckers, if we don't have suckers for Christmas that would be like Christmas without Santa." So she came over and helped me make suckers! So if you stop by our house be sure to grab a sucker from "Grandmas Sucker Tree". On Christmas Eve Kris makes his "famous kabobs" and the family all comes over to eat and they all open a gift from us. On Christmas morning I make a breakfast casserole and muffins and the kids come over for brunch. That is getting harder since the grand kids are getting older and want to stay at their house and play with the new stuff. We travel to see what Santa brought the grand kids and then visit our moms(both our dads are gone) my mom stays with us every other year. Christmas is all about family and friends, good food and the birth of Jesus Christ, I pray we all keep the true spirit of Christmas in our homes this year. Have a wonderful Christmas Everyone!!
